Gyeonggi Creation Center, located in Sungam-do, Ansan-si in Gyeonggi Province, is an art sponsorship organization to support creative activities and researches by domestic and overseas artists. With a variety of facilities such artists’ studios, art and crafts workshops, artwork storage, a theater and a number of multi-purpose halls, Gyeonggi Creation Center hosts exhibitions and open-studio events, community based art programs, art education, and international exchange programs.

Gyeonggi Creation Center’s global yet localized program offers Korean artists with opportunities to reach out to the global art scene and provides foreign artists with a comprehensive experience of working and living in the Korean island region. During the past years, Gyeonggi Creation Center initiated various local cooperation projects, based on creative and artistic ideas for local community, while preparing the foundation on which participating artists from around the world could engage in the local region with their fresh perspectives.

Throughout the past ten years, a great number of young and promising artists have grown through a series of new artist support systems such as international residency program and alternative spaces. As a public institution, Gyeonggi Creation Center tries to step into a new stage by elevating the residency to a new model of local and the global connection with a further specialized programs. At this point, Gyeonggi Creation Center will endeavor to fulfill its reinforced roles and obligations.

Another focus of Gyeonggi Creation Center beyond residency program is a number of educational programs that mediates complicated ideas of contemporary art in a more comprehensible forms. With these educational activities, Gyeonggi Creation Center tries to help children and youth, their teachers, workers and CEOs in private and public sectors to cultivate a happier and artistic life.

Gyeonggi Creation Center, managed by the Gyeonggi Cultural Foundation(an affiliated organization of the Gyeonggi Province), will position itself as an international creation hub in Korea that symbolizes cultural brand of Gyeonggi Province by accomplishing authentic international interaction and leading the cultural development of the Gyeonggi region.
